Coaching for Success

Coaching is based on a partnership that involves continual, open and honest communications. Many managers struggle with the concept of coaching: When to coach, how to coach and what to say to inspire improved performance.

This interactive workshop offers tools and ideas to build confidence in the coaching process. Participants learn to coach whenever the possibility presents itself. Coaching is most effective when it is practiced early in the relationship – when initially setting expectations, giving guidance and building relationships with staff members.

It’s often too late, or ineffective to begin coaching after the employee starts demonstrating poor performance, because it may have been the manager’s inability to communicate and model expectations that created the poor performance in the first place. The coaching relationship must begin early on, not only to assure good performance, but to establish trust and open communication which is crucial to effective leadership.
